We’ve listed a few things, below, to consider before picking up your puppy.
If you do not already have a vet, you should start searching to find one nearby that you trust. There will be some checkups and vaccinations that should be accomplished within four weeks of pickup.
Here is a minimum list of items that we recommend you should have before pickup day:
Dog crate (for house training and the trip home)
Dog tag
Leash
Puppy food (what we use is shown below)
Food bowl
Water bowl
Grooming Brush
Puppy shampoo
Puppy treats
Dog toothpaste & toothbrush (human toothpaste should not be used)
Dog Bed
We'll give you a collar (If you prefer a harness, feel free to get one)
For treats and/or training treats, we recommend Pupperonis brand
Pet stain enzymatic cleaner
This would be a great time to consider if you want health insurance on your new puppy. Some insurance companies have a delay of 3 to 10 days for the insurance to be active from the date of purchase. If you want insurance active on your dog when you pick it up, you should purchase insurance the appropriate amount of days in advance.
