The following is a sample form of the conditions under which families make a deposit to wait for an available puppy. ​ This agreement is intended to be active from the day of signing (with a deposit already made) to the day the puppy goes to its forever home (which is when the Adoption Contract is established).  You can see in it both Echt K9 commitments as well as family responsibilities in this time when the importance of communication is at its highest.

1.Description of Dog Desired by Buyer

1.The Seller will
  1. Provide a Dog as defined under section 1 for the Buyer within two years of the last signature signed and dated on this agreement
  2. Produce and maintain a website under the URL www.EchtK9.com and all associated webpages discussed herein
  3. Do their best to provide puppy availability information under the appropriate Echt K9 website pages in regards to size and Breed of Dog which will include Current Puppies, Waiting Lists and Future Litters
  4. All Seller Dog health guarantees will be covered under the Adoption Contract between the Seller and the Buyer that will be intended to be finalized on puppy pickup day of the specific puppy the Buyer chooses
  5. Provide a sample Adoption Contract under the Adoption page of the Echt K9 website
 

2.The Buyer
  1. Acknowledges that the deposit is non-refundable but is transferable to any dog from Echt K9
  2. Acknowledges that if they should choose to NOT get a puppy from Echt K9 for any reason (including getting a dog from another Breeder that is not Echt K9 or that they feel the waiting list for their particular size and breed with Echt K9 is too long) that their deposit will not be refunded
  3. Acknowledges that if they defer choosing a puppy on a litter with at least one available puppy that they nullify the Seller’s item 3-a commitment
  4. Acknowledges that if they defer choosing a puppy on three litters, all of which have at least one available puppy, that they will be moved to the bottom of the breed and size specific waiting list designated in section 1
  5. Will become familiar with the Echt K9 website and use it as a medium for understanding all aspects of the puppy adoption process
  6. Acknowledges that the Seller does not feel that it is in the best interest of the puppy to be picked up after the pup turns nine weeks old and if the Buyer is unable to pick up when the puppy is between eight and nine weeks old that the Buyer should seriously consider waiting to adopt a puppy from a future litter.  Echt K9 charges an additional $200 per week to hold puppies after they are 9 weeks old or for more than a week after they are released to go to their forever homes.
  7. That the buyer has read Echt K9’s Puppy Health Screening policy under the Adoption drop down menu of the Echt K9 website (www.echtk9.com/puppy-health-screening.html)
  8. That we will accomplish a final Adoption Contract between Seller and Buyer that will finalize the adoption for the Buyer and will include specific puppy information for the puppy the Buyer chooses
